Itinerary Hatyai - Koh Lipe

Day 1 (Friday 4th January 2019)

12.05 am: Departed to Padang Besar from Sungai Buloh KTM.
                 Train ticket: RM146.00 (return) 

05.15 am: Arrived Padang Besar station.
                 Train leaves at 9.00 am and we wanted to save time so we decided to take a van that will drop us straight to the hostel.
                 Van price: RM25.00 + RM2.00 (duit sogok as I called it because the driver took it. No idea what its for.) 

06.00 am: We walked to the Padang Besar emigration and waited for our van.

*From this point, the timing is based on Thailand's time. Thailand is one hour late from Malaysia*

07.00 am: We arrived at our hostel. The hostel that we booked through Booking.com (The Hive Hatyai Hostel) had a really great customer services. The receptionist really helped us throughout our stay in Hatyai. Her English is great as well. So no problem with communication.
                   Hostel price: RM31.10/night (including Bank charges) 

08.00 am: Walked to 7E and bought snacks.
                   Snacks: 20 baht on water 

08.20 am: Walked to hostel and discussed about our one shot itinerary. Everything was planned at that reception counter with the help of the girl. Lol. We decided to take a driver who will drive us around Hatyai.
                One day trip driver: 480 baht/pax 

09.00 am: The driver picked us up. We went to Bangkok Dimsum. Okey this is the one thing which I would not recommend. The Dimsum. Yes its halal but its not the best. Maybe you can try for different Dimsum shop. Avoid Bangkok Dimsum please.
                Breakfast Dimsum: 100 baht/pax 

10.00 am: Went to Robinson (a mall) to buy a simcard at DTCA. DTCA is Thailand's telecommunication provider and it's just outside the mall.
                 Simcard: 120 baht unlimited for one week (30 baht/pax) 
                 Then we went inside the mall to buy some snacks and food for our Lipe preparation.
                 Groceries: 144 baht (36 baht/pax) 

10.40 am: We started our journey to visit Sleeping Buddha.
11.20 am: Arrived at Sleeping Buddha temple. Took pictures.
11.45 am: Started our journey to visit Songkhla Beach. Took pictures with the mermaid that got bombed just a few days before we arrived. Luckily the mermaid has been repaired.
12.30 pm: Started our journey to the cable car to see Hatyai Top View and Standing Buddha.
01.05 pm: Arrived at Cable Car. Had to walked up stairs before arriving at the cable car.
                 Cable Car ticket: 200 baht/pax 

01.30 pm: Arrived at Standing Buddha and Hatyai Top View. Took pictures. Ate ice cream. Calculate our short budget because we just found out that Thailand is expensiveeee. *laugh out loud please*
                 Ice cream: 25 baht 

02.50 pm: Started our journey to floating market. Walked around floating market, shopping and ate.
                 Food: 140 baht (70 baht/pax because I shared with my cousin) 
                 We ate (Bayam goreng 20 baht, Banana pancake 30 baht, Teh ais and Green tea 40 baht, Kerabu Maggie 50 baht)
                 Shopping: 170 baht (baju)

05.20 pm: Started our journey to ASEAN Night Bazaar. Walked around and shopping. The driver dropped us here for our last stop before he went home.
               Shopping souvenirs: 350 baht 
               Seluar: 200 baht (1 for 100 baht) 
               Coklat teapot 2: 45 baht (After negotiation) 
               
07.10 pm: Took Tuk Tuk to hostel.
              Tuk Tuk: 25 baht/pax (Actually we thought the cheapest was 50 baht, when they offered 25 baht, we took the deal. Didnt know that we can go lower than that. Urghh. Other passengers got 20 baht) 

07.30 pm: Arrived Hostel. Paid our booking for speedboat and van to Lipe. Went to bath and sleep. Ready for the next day.
              Hatyai-Pak Bara van and Speedboat to Lipe: 1400 baht/pax 



Day 2 (Saturday 5th January 2019)

07.00 am: Woke up early. Got ready and packed all the things.
08.00 am: Breakfast at the hostel pantry.
08.30 am: Took van to Pak Barra pier.
                 Entrance fee: 20 baht 
                 National park ticket fee: 200 baht 
                 *Make sure you place the ticket safely because the ferry will bring you to 3 islands hopping before arriving to Koh Lipe Island. At the National Park, they'll check the ticket. If you failed to show it during entrance, you'll need to pay again. Another thing, the ticket will be used if you wanted to go for snorkeling. During snorkeling there'll be 5/6 check points where one check point is for lunch break. You'll eat lunch at the National Park. So here you have to show the ticket again*

10.54 am: Arrived Pak Barra Terminal
11.30 am: Depart to Koh Lipe. Island hopping.
02.30 pm: Arrived hostel. Checked in. Rest and decided to go for lunch.
               Hostel price: RM77/pax for 2 nights 
               Hostel name: Decho Hostel 
               Deposit: 600 baht 

04.00 pm: Lunch at one of the halal restaurant. The food was so-so.
               Lunch: 100 baht 

05.00 pm: Walking along the street to survey the snorkeling price. And then we decided to walk to the Sunset Beach to watch sunset.

06.00 pm: Sunset Beach.
07.00 pm: Back to hostel and took shower. Before we go back, we booked our snorkeling package. We took our dinner which were the food we bought when we went to Robinson (Maggi)
                Snorkeling: 600 baht/pax (the price is fixed and every shop offer the same price) 
                 The package include (Food, snorkeling gear, life jacket, water, fruits and the package we took offer free pictures. ) 

09.00 pm: Took a walk along the beach at night. Stopped at a minimarket and bought drinks. Hang out outside the shop which is next to a bar that has live band and fire performance. We talked and laughed. Come back to hostel and we continue hanging out at the hostel lobby/balcony.
            Drinks: 25 baht 

12.00 pm: Sleep.



Day 3 (Sunday 6th January 2019)

7.00 am: Woke up.
8.00 am: Breakfast at one of halal shop called Tasneem
              Breakfast: 40 baht (Nasi ayam pulut) 
8.45 am: Gather for snorkeling and we went for 5 stops including lunch.
4.00 pm: Finished snorkeling.
4.30 pm: Drank coconut water.
              Coconut water: 50 baht (25/pax share with cousin) 
5.00 pm: Went back to hostel to put our stuffs then go out again to Pattaya Beach.
Watched sunset which is sooo beautiful and peaceful. The best moment in Lipe for me.
6.00 pm: Went back and get ready for dinner.
8.00 pm: Went to dinner at Bung Roon restaurant. Their 4 people food portion is a lottttt and can feed like 8 people. The taste is good as well. There is a live band singing Malay song too and his voice is sooo good.
                Dinner: 350 baht/pax (Fuad's treat) 
(One ikan siakap, 1 sayur, 1 tomyam, 1 ayam black paper, 1 sotong masak sweet sour) 

9.00 pm: Our last night in Lipe so we went for shopping souvenirs at the Walking Street.
                Souvenirs: 300 baht 

9.30 pm: We went to hang out again at the same place like yesterday.
               Drinks: 50 baht 

10.30 pm: We went back to hostel because we were so exhausted. But on our way back we walked along the beach and saw the planktons. It was so beautiful. My dream came true.

11.30 pm: Packing and Sleep.


Day 4 (Sunday 7th January 2019)

8.00 am: Check out of the hostel.
8.30 am: Breakfast at Mina Restaurant. I wouldnt recommend it here.
               Breakfast: 120 baht 
9.30 am: Got on the boat and straight to Pak Barra.
11.30 am: Arrived Pak Barra and wait for our van to pick up
               Bought Snacks: 50 baht (Air collagen 2 botol) 

1.30 pm: Arrived Hatyai bus station. Look for a minibus that is going to Padang besar
              Bus ticket: 50 baht 

2.00 pm: Depart to Padang Besar
3.00 pm: Arrived Padang Besar Emigration
3.30 pm: Took a driver to bring us to Padang Besar duty free. Arrived Padang Besar and shopping for food again.
              Driver: 250 baht (I gave 50 baht, remaining Syahir and Fuad paid) 
              Shopping: RM20.00 
              Toilet entrance: 10 baht

4.30 pm: Arrived train station.
6.00 pm: Padang Besar - Sungai Buloh
11.30 pm: Arrived Sungai Buloh.
End of Trip.


Disclaimer: I changed RM600 which is 4670 baht and later in Hatyai I changed RM65 to add 500 baht more. Total Thai Baht = 5170 baht (RM665)
